Eli Whitney Honors Memorial Day 2017

The day started out rainy, but by the time school started, it had stopped. Volunteers turned out in record numbers and we had the previous years 3000 poppies planted in the front yard by 11:30. Thank you to all those parents, Veterans, firemen, police officers, and the general public who stopped by to help plant poppies and make our garden grow! We could not have done it without you!

We finally made it on to the news. Thank you News Channel 12 for coming out to film our Poppy Display! Maybe next year we will make the national news.

Our personal hero, Mr. Mike, a former Marine, planting a poppy.

The firemen came out to help up plant the 3000 poppies from years past!

Police officers dropped by too to lend a hand with the planting!

Officer Wilcoxson is not only one of Stratford's finest, but he is also a Veteran!

By the time school ended, the sun was shining on our Flanders Fields.
